Vehicle Theft
Boost cars for garage or resale. Need free slots and tools. Mickey locks practice until he cues you - the tour crash is intentional.
Vehicle Theft is where you boost cars. Keepers go to your garage; scrap gets sold. Illegal jobs later want a getaway from that garage - don’t empty the lot for pocket change.
Softlock (Mickey)
During onboarding, theft attempts stay locked until Mickey cues you to practice. That’s normal. Don’t fight the lock - finish his current step, then boost when he says so.
The tour practice crashes on purpose: you lose some health, leave the car, and walk to the Doctor. First patch is free. Path and restart: Onboarding Tutorials.
Requirements
- Garage space before you steal. Full lot = no boost. Sell scrap, keep keepers.
- Success chance depends on vehicle difficulty and your tools.
Rarer metal is harder and pays more. Common and uncommon rides stay on the street early; rare / epic / legendary only appear after higher ranks. Until then, buy the getaway you need from a Dealership.
Tools
These improve success chance (bonuses are configurable in-game):
- Slim Jim
- GPS Jammer
- Lockpick Set
- Wire Cutters
- Crowbar
- Duct Tape
- Bolt Cutters
Tools can be consumed or lost on failed attempts. Stock up at the General Store. Slim Jims and Lockpick Sets are craft-only at the Workshop. Shop detail: City Shops.
Rewards
- Stolen vehicles go to your garage or can be sold.
- Bonus loot can include cash (added to your wallet), ammo, or lotto tickets.
Crash hard enough on a real boost and a police chase can put you in hospital. Most escapes only scuff the car. That wreck is separate from a normal heal: Energy & Health. Getaway rules for the job board: Illegal Jobs.
