City Shops
Buy gear with on-hand cash. Unowned shops are city-held. Own one, set prices - a kill can take the shop.
Every city has shops. Open them from the City section of the sidebar: Weapon Shop, Armour Shop, Bullet Factory, and General Store. Buy weapons, armor, ammo, and tools with on-hand cash. Unowned shops are City Held Businesses - still open, limited stock that restocks slowly. Take one over to run it yourself.
Shop types
| Shop | What it sells |
|---|---|
| Weapon Shop | Firearms |
| Armor Shop | Vests, helmets, gloves, boots, shields |
| Bullet Factory | Ammunition |
| General Store | Tools and materials - crowbars, glass cutters, bolt cutters, wire cutters, duct tape, rope, barbed wire. Slim Jims and Lockpick Sets stay craft-only at the Workshop. |
Buying
- Pay with wallet cash. Ammo pricing can vary by rank.
- Higher-tier firearms are rank-locked to buy. Required rank shows on the item; the buy button stays blocked until you hit it. Equip and use are not rank-gated if you get the weapon another way (trade, loot, auction).
- City-held shops: limited stock; purchase money does not pay another player.
- Player-owned shops: your cash goes to the owner.
Missing a job requirement? Red requirement links on the job board open the matching shop with that item highlighted: Illegal Jobs.
Owning
- Take over a city-held shop to set prices. The city's shelf is cleared, and you restock at wholesale.
- Earn when other players buy from you.
- Take stock for yourself from the manage screen at wholesale cost basis (no extra charge after you restock) — weapons, armor, ammo, and general store tools.
- Shops can transfer to your killer if you die (unless protected by game rules). Own what you can afford to lose - or protect it.
Same idea as casino tables and dealerships: assets other players use are worth something, and a kill can move them.
